Hosted chat page branding and theme

Last updated: · 4 min read

What the hosted page is

The hosted page is a full-screen chat page AskVault serves for you at askvault.co/c/your-slug, or on your own domain. It runs the same agent as your widget. Use it when you do not have a website to embed a widget on, or want a page to link to from emails, QR codes or social bios.

Set it up and publish it from the hosted page settings in the dashboard (see hosted page setup).

Display switches

  • Recent chats. Let returning visitors reopen earlier conversations, with your own label.
  • Action bar. Show or hide the actions under each answer.
  • Citations. Show or hide the sources behind each answer.

Access settings

  • Require email. Visitors enter an email before chatting.
  • Password. Only people with the password can open the page.
  • Rate limit. Cap messages per hour for the page, from 1 to 10,000.

One page per workspace

Each workspace has one hosted page. For a second brand or campaign, create another workspace and publish its own page. Free includes 1 workspace, Starter 2, Growth 5 and Business 15.

Limits

  • No custom CSS and no custom layouts.
  • One language of interface text per page; the agent's replies follow the visitor's language.
  • No public API for hosted page settings; change them in the dashboard.

Common pitfalls

Logo missing. Add a logo in your widget or brand settings; the hosted page reads it from there.

Changes not showing. Check you published the page, then reload it.

Colours clash in dark mode. Pick a brand colour with enough contrast against both light and dark backgrounds, or fix the theme to one mode.
