Make.com integration

Why Make vs Zapier

Both are no-code automation platforms with overlapping app catalogs. Differences:

  • Visual. Make's flow diagrams more intuitive than Zapier's linear list for complex scenarios.
  • Pricing. Make bills in credits; Zapier bills in tasks. Compare both vendors' pricing pages for your workload.

Zapier setup is not currently available in AskVault, so Make is the no-code route today.

Availability

The Make integration is live:

  • Available on Growth and above.
  • Enable it from Channels > Make.
  • Connect via askvault.co or contact support for help.

Available triggers

Pick any of these when you add your scenario's webhook URL in Channels > Make:

  • New chat message. Fires every time the agent answers a question.
  • New conversation. Fires when a new visitor starts chatting.
  • Conversation escalated. Fires when the agent hands off to a human.
  • Lead captured. Fires when a contact form or email is collected.

Events are sent to your Make webhook as they happen; a failed delivery is retried up to 3 times.

Calling AskVault from Make

There is no AskVault module in Make's catalog. To ask your agent a question from a scenario, use Make's HTTP module to call the REST API (POST /v1/query) with your API key.

Sample scenario

Lead-captured to Airtable.

  • Trigger: AskVault lead.captured.
  • Step 1: Filter on the event's data.source field (widget for the lead form, ai_skill when the agent collected it).
  • Step 2: Format the contact data.
  • Step 3: Add row to Airtable "Hot Leads" base.
  • Step 4: Send Slack message to #sales-hot-leads.

Make's visual editor shows the data flow clearly. About 5 minutes to build.

Comparison to native integrations

Use Make for:

  • Complex multi-step flows with conditional logic.
  • Apps without native AskVault integration.
  • Visual debugging during development.

Use AskVault's native channels and the REST API for:

  • High volume (each Make scenario run uses Make credits).

Limits

  • Credits per month. Your Make plan's monthly credit allowance applies.

Common pitfalls

No events arrive. In Make, click Run once on the scenario, then click Test in Channels > Make to send a sample event.

Credits exhausted. Multi-step scenarios use Make credits fast. Filter early so fewer modules run.

Integration not enabled. Turn it on in Channels > Make.

FAQ

Should I use Zapier or Make?

Use Make. Zapier setup is not currently available in AskVault.

Is real-time available?

AskVault sends each event to your Make webhook when it happens; it does not wait to be polled. How quickly the scenario then runs depends on its schedule setting in Make.
