What each plan meters
Each AskVault plan has a price and two allowances: a monthly message-credit allowance and an indexed-content cap in MB. Top-up packs are sold separately.
Why this matters:
- Predictable. The message allowance is a hard cap, and you get alerts at 70%, 90% and 100% of your messages. The content cap applies to crawled and manually added web pages.
- No surprise charges. No per-message overage and no per-seat fees.
Channels, workspaces and team seats scale by plan tier. There are no per-seat fees and no per-message overage charges.
Message credits
Each plan includes a monthly allowance of message credits. One answer on a standard model uses one credit. Premium models cost more credits per answer (the model picker shows the cost up front), so a workspace that leans on higher-end models uses its allowance faster.
Three metering rules are rolling out behind switches and are not yet on:
- Answers that use skills. When your agent runs a skill (for example an order lookup) before it replies, each AI step is charged at the model's per-answer rate. A reply that runs one skill and then answers uses 2 answers' worth of credits; a reply with no skill still uses 1. When your credits run out partway through, the agent stops before the next step. If none of the reply had been shown yet, no credits are taken for it; if part of it had, the steps already run stay charged.
- Monthly automation limit. Background AI work has a monthly limit on every plan: FAQ and Q&A generation, setup analysis, Copilot, and agent reply suggestions. Paid plans will stop at that limit the same way Free does, rather than carrying on past it. The limit resets each month, and upgrading raises it.
- One Free allowance per inbox. Free accounts that sign up with variants of one email inbox share one Free allowance. That covers
name+tag@addresses, and dotted Gmail addresses. The allowance stays with the earliest verified account. The other Free accounts start with 0 credits and can upgrade to a paid plan.
You get a friendly heads-up at 70%, 90%, and 100% of your monthly messages. At the cap you can upgrade, or buy a top-up pack on Starter and above; we don't silently cut you off, and there's no per-message overage billing.
What "indexed content" means
The MB count covers:
- Crawled URLs. Each page's extracted text contributes to the count.
- Web pages you add by URL.
Not counted toward the MB cap:
-
Uploaded files (PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD, CSV).
-
Snippets and Q&A pairs you've created.
-
Integration-sourced content (Notion, GitHub, Confluence, etc.).
-
Conversations. Customer chats are stored separately.
-
Audit logs. Compliance data.
-
Backups. Internal use only.
Track current usage in the usage meter.
Why content-based billing
Three reasons we picked this:
- Content is the moat. What makes your bot useful is the indexed knowledge.
- Easy to optimize. Delete what's not used; index what is.
- No surprise. Per-message billing punishes high-engagement bots; per-seat billing punishes growing teams.
Quotas per plan
Beyond the MB cap, each plan has additional caps:
Free. $0, no time limit. 50 messages/month. Widget plus shared chat page. 1 team member. 1 workspace.
Starter. 2,000 messages/month. Adds the REST API. 1 team member. 2 workspaces.
Growth. 6,000 messages/month. Adds WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, SMS, the Email Assistant and Make. WhatsApp needs your own WhatsApp Business account and SMS needs your own Twilio account. 4 team members. 5 workspaces.
Business. 15,000 messages/month. Adds the Voice Agent, which is in early access; voice minutes are sold separately. 10 team members. 15 workspaces.
Enterprise. Custom message volume (40,000/month floor). The same channels as Business. Team seats are set in your contract. Unlimited workspaces.
A message is one bot response. Each response uses at least one message credit, and premium models use more, so a conversation with 10 bot replies uses at least 10 credits.
Channels per plan
Channel access is gated by plan tier. The table below shows which channels each plan includes.
| Channel | Free | Starter | Growth | Business | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Widget | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Shared chat page | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| REST API | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| WhatsApp (your own WhatsApp Business account) | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Telegram | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Slack | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Discord | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| SMS (your own Twilio account) | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Email Assistant | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Make | No | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Voice Agent, early access (voice minutes sold separately) | No | No | No | Yes | Yes |
WhatsApp and SMS connect through accounts you own: WhatsApp through your WhatsApp Business account on Meta, SMS through your Twilio account. Meta and Twilio bill you directly for their messaging fees.
Make connects through an outbound webhook, which is a Growth feature.
Voice Agent is in early access and not switched on for every account yet. When it is on, it is part of Business and Enterprise, but no plan includes voice minutes. Calls need a prepaid voice-minute pack, billed separately from message credits.
Zapier and Intercom are not currently available to connect, so no plan lists them.
Skills per plan
The built-in skills:
- Free.
knowledge_search,collect_lead. - Starter. Adds
sentiment_router, andticketing_router, which creates no Zendesk tickets today because Zendesk can't be connected for this. - Growth. Adds
escalate_to_human,sdr_lead_qualifier,demo_scheduler,wismo_order_status,wc_order_status, andcart_recovery, which is listed but does not work yet because cart lookup is not connected. - Business. Adds
discount_negotiator,subscription_manager,custom_webhook. - Enterprise. All plus custom skills.
See skills overview for what each does.
Team seats
Per plan:
- Free, Starter. 1 seat (just you).
- Growth. 4 seats.
- Business. 10 seats.
- Enterprise. Set in your contract.
Note: AskVault doesn't charge per-seat. Adding teammates doesn't add cost; it just consumes your plan's seat cap.
Workspaces
Multiple workspaces let you separate environments or brands:
- Free. 1 workspace.
- Starter. 2 workspaces.
- Growth. 5 workspaces.
- Business. 15 workspaces.
- Enterprise. Unlimited.
Each workspace has its own knowledge, channels, and analytics. Useful for:
- Multi-brand operators.
- Production vs staging.
- Per-team workspaces in larger orgs.
Annual prepay discount
Pay 12 months upfront at 10 times the monthly price (2 months free, about 17% off). Annual locks your rate; mid-cycle plan changes prorate.

Comparison vs competitors
How AskVault's content and message allowances line up against similar plans, month-to-month (Chatbase figures checked 2026-10-21; SiteGPT figures checked 2026-10-21):
| Platform | Plan | Price | Content | Messages |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AskVault | Growth | $99/mo | 40 MB | 6,000 |
| Chatbase | Pro | $500/mo | 40 MB | 15,000 credits |
| SiteGPT | Growth | $129/mo | 10,000 pages, about 25 MB of text | 10,000 |
SiteGPT counts pages, not megabytes; the 25 MB figure is our arithmetic, using the 2,500-character page that SiteGPT's pricing page describes. SiteGPT's messages are on its lighter model. Both competitors include more messages at these tiers.
AskVault's advantages are price per tier, several workspaces on every paid plan and branding removal from Growth. See:

- 5 MB of content. Widget plus shared page.
- About 50 messages per month.
Month 3: Upgrade to Starter.
- Hit the 5 MB cap.
- Bumping to 15 MB.
- Adding REST API for product integration.
Month 6: Upgrade to Growth.
- Hit 15 MB cap.

Sign-up flow
New accounts start on the Free plan, with no credit card and no time limit. It includes $0 pricing, 50 messages/month, 5 MB of content, and the widget plus shared chat page. A Free workspace with no conversations for 21 days is paused, and it can be removed after 30 idle days. Upgrade to a paid plan any time.
Add-ons and roadmap
Message credit top-ups, available now. Hit your monthly allowance early? On Starter and above, buy a one-time top-up pack from the Billing page. Top-up credits don't expire within the billing cycle.
On the roadmap:
- Custom plan tier. Fixed tiers today. Custom combinations (for example Growth plus Voice) are being evaluated.

FAQ
Why MB instead of messages for billing?
Predictability. MB is stable. Message volume varies unpredictably with traffic. We bill on the dimension that aligns with value (content = bot intelligence) and doesn't punish customer growth. Monthly message credits are a second, separate cap, with top-up packs on Starter and above.
Can I switch plans anytime?
Yes for upgrades (immediate, prorated).
What happens when I hit my message limit?
You get an in-app banner (and an alert at 70% and 90% along the way). On Starter and above, buy a top-up pack or upgrade to keep going; on Free, upgrade or wait for the monthly reset. There's no per-message overage billing.
Is there a free tier with no time limit?
Yes. The Free plan ($0) has no time limit: 50 messages per month, 5 MB, widget plus shared chat page, no credit card required. A Free workspace with no conversations for 21 days is paused, and it can be removed after 30 idle days.
