Usage meter

What is tracked

  • Message credits this cycle. Every AI answer uses credits; premium models use more per answer, so the meter counts credits, not answers.
  • Indexed content (MB). Storage used against your plan's allowance.
  • Team seats. Used against your plan's allowance.

Where to see it

  • Monthly Use in the dashboard sidebar shows your credit use at a glance.
  • The Billing page shows your plan, usage and options to upgrade or buy more credits.
  • Analytics shows conversation volume over time.

Alerts

  • 70% used: in-app notice.
  • 90% used: in-app notice and an email to the account owner.
  • 100% used: in-app notice and email; the agent pauses until you buy more credits, upgrade or the cycle resets.

Reset

Your allowance resets monthly and unused credits do not roll over. On annual plans the allowance still resets each month.

Paid plans reset on your billing date (rolling out, not yet switched on). Once enabled, a paid plan's message credits refill once per billing period, on the day of the month your subscription bills. Subscriptions that bill on the 29th, 30th or 31st reset on the 28th. Upgrading to a higher plan still gives you the new allowance straight away. The Free plan keeps its current monthly reset.

One pool per account

Every workspace on your account draws from the same monthly allowance and the same top-up credits. Adding a workspace does not add messages; the allowance belongs to your plan.

What uses credits

Background analysis such as AI Insights runs on a separate analysis allowance and does not use your message credits.

Keeping usage in check

  • Pick a lighter model if you do not need a premium one; see the model selector.
  • Turn on chat guardrails when they reach your account, to limit abusive visitors.
  • Delete outdated sources to free storage.

Common pitfalls

The agent stopped answering. You reached 100% of your credits. Buy more, upgrade, or wait for the reset.

Usage jumped. A premium model costs more credits per answer, or a script is hitting your widget. Check your model and recent conversations.

Does the chat playground count?

Yes.

Can I get more credits mid-cycle?

Upgrade your plan for a bigger allowance straight away, or buy a top-up from the Billing page.

Will I be charged for going over?

No. There is no automatic overage charge; the agent pauses at 100% instead.
