Ingest knowledge from Notion
What gets imported
For each page:
- The page title.
- The page's text: paragraphs, headings, bulleted and numbered lists, to-dos, quotes, callouts, code blocks and dividers.
What's not imported:
- Content nested inside other blocks, such as tables and the inside of toggles or columns, and sub-pages. Import sub-pages separately.
- Comments, images and embeds (Figma, Loom and so on).
- Page properties other than the title.
- Pages you haven't shared with AskVault.
Setup
- Open Knowledge > Add Source > Notion.
- Click Connect Notion, sign in, and pick which pages AskVault may read in Notion's page picker.
- Prefer a token? Choose the integration-token option instead: create an internal integration at notion.so/profile/integrations, share each page with it from the page's ••• menu, and paste the token.
- Optionally paste a page URL to import only that page. Leave it empty to import pages AskVault can access.
- Choose how many pages to import (up to 100).
- Click import. Each page appears in the Knowledge page as its own source.
Refreshing content
There is no background sync. To pick up changes:
- Run the import again. Pages are matched by their Notion URL: unchanged pages are left alone and changed pages are re-indexed with the new text.
- Deleted pages are not removed automatically. Delete them in the Knowledge page.
- Don't use Resync on this import. Resync all (and Resync selected or Force Resync on an imported row) re-reads imported sources as if they were public web pages. That can mark them as needing attention, or replace the imported text with whatever the public page shows. Run the import again instead, and when you resync website pages, select them and use Resync selected.
Audience
Imported pages are public by default. Set a page's audience to internal in the Knowledge page to keep it out of public channels.
Limits
- Pages per import. 100.
- Sync. None; re-run the import to refresh.
- Nested content. Only a page's top-level blocks are read.
Common pitfalls
"Notion rejected the token." The token is wrong, or no pages have been shared with the integration yet. In Notion, open the page's ••• menu > Connections and add your integration.
Pages missing from the import. They weren't shared with AskVault, or they're past the page count you chose.
A page looks incomplete. Its content is inside toggles, columns or sub-pages. Move key text to the top level of the page, or import the sub-pages separately.
Stale answers after editing in Notion. Run the import again.
FAQ
Can I index a public Notion site?
Yes, either with this import or with URL crawling if the site is published on the web.

Yes. The Notion API is available on every Notion plan.
Can I exclude specific pages?
Don't share them with AskVault in Notion, or delete them from the Knowledge page after importing.
